What is MAD 4 CAD you ask? It is quite simple.

Step 1:

You are given a dimensioned drawing on a piece of paper, and asked to reproduce this in AutoCAD (minus the dimensions of course)

Step 2:

Finish the drawing exactly to specification, in the least amount of time, and you win.

DATES AND TIMES

HIGH SCHOOL COMPETITION DATE: TUESDAY, March 27th, 2018
TIME: 7pm TO (WHEN THE FINAL DRAWING IS COMPLETE) OR 10pm
 
COLLEGE COMPETITION DATE: WEDNESDAY, March 28th, 2018
TIME: 12pm TO (WHEN THE FINAL DRAWING IS COMPLETE) OR 3pm

FORMAT

College and High School Format:

All participants will arrive before the start of the competition to take their places. The drawings will be distributed with the starting bell. The first participant to complete the drawing AS IT IS SHOWN will be the winner.

16 COMPUTERS WILL BE SETUP IN THE ARNIE, FENNELL CAMPUS, MOHAWK COLLEGE.

2 PREQUALIFYING HEATS WILL BE RUN, AND THE BEST 4 FROM EACH HEAT ARE ABLE TO ADVANCE TO THE FINAL ROUND.

IN THE FINAL ROUND, THE DRAWING WILL BE MORE COMPLEX. PRIZES WILL BE ALLOTTED TO THE TOP FINISHERS OF THE FINAL ROUND ONLY.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

Who Can Participate

Any Full-time High School or College student can enter their respective competitions.

The Set Up

A recent release of AutoCAD will be loaded onto the computers. Participants are welcome to bring their own macros and mice. Mice will be provided.

The Drawing

The drawing will be neither Mechanical nor Architectural. It will be a 2D drawing of the difficulty shown in the examples.
